NEW WHISTLEBLOWER LAW: NO INTERNAL REPORTING NEEDED FOR REWARD
(FindLaw's In House) - A new whistleblower law has corporations on high alert. The new SEC rule, part of the Dodd-Frank Act, gives whistleblowers the ability to collect up to 10-30% of penalties over $1 million that the SEC fines their company, even if they decide to bypass a company's internal reporting system.

PUNISHMENT FOR HIRING UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS O
(FindLaw's Free Enterprise) If you live in a state or locality that is considering making it mandatory for employers to utilize the federal E-Verify system, or that wants to punish those who hire undocumented workers, pay attention. In a 5-3 decision issued on Thursday, the Supreme Court upheld Arizona's mandatory E-Verify statute--which also revokes and/or suspends business licenses of employers who hire undocumented workers.

SKYCAP TIPS: AMERICAN WINS APPEALS COURT REVERSAL
(FindLaw's Decided) - The U.S. 1st Circuit of Appeals has reversed an earlier decision to grant American Airlines skycaps around $330,000 in baggage fees. The American Airlines skycap reversal hinged on whether the court was to interpret the case via state tip laws, or if they were to interpret the case based on federal law. Federal law prevailed.

PAYPAL SUES GOOGLE AND FORMER EMPLOYEES OVER MOBILE PAYMENTS SYSTEM
(FindLaw's Courtside) - PayPal has filed a lawsuit against Google over Google's new mobile payment system. In the lawsuit, PayPal alleges that one of its former executives who now works for Google violated PayPal's trade secrets by leading the development of the new payment system. PayPal also claims that the executive violated his duty to the PayPal by interviewing for the position at Google while simultaneously negotiating a Google-PayPal contract.
