NEW AND NOTEWORTHY: NFL COACHES SIDE WITH PLAYERS IN LOCKOUT FIGHT (AP) - The NFL Coaches Association is backing the players in their legal fight to end the owner-imposed lockout. The association filed a brief with the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday. It says the lockout is inflicting irreparable harm on coaches who rely on summer minicamps and workouts to get on the same page with players heading into the season. It says newly hired coaches are being particularly harmed.
| HAYNESWORTH ROAD-RAGE TRIAL POSTPONED IN VIRGINIA (AP) - Washington Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth's trial on misdemeanor charges related to an alleged road-rage assault in northern Virginia has been postponed. Lawyers said Haynesworth may be in the process of settling the matter with the alleged victim, which is permissible under Virginia law. The trial had been set for Thursday in Fairfax County. Now it's set for Tuesday.
| FIFA TO INVESTIGATE ITS PRESIDENT IN BRIBE SCANDA (AP) - FIFA will investigate its president in a widening bribery scandal. FIFA says Sepp Blatter must submit a statement by Saturday and attend an ethics committee hearing on Sunday. Blatter's election rival, Mohamed bin Hammam, requested Thursday that FIFA investigate both candidates in the affair.

THE TARNISHED TWENTY: SUPER BOWL SEATING LAWSUIT SHOULD BE TOSSED, COWBOYS ARGUE (FindLaw's Tarnished Twenty) - The NFL and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones were in court on Thursday, requesting that a judge dismiss the Super Bowl seating lawsuit that seeks damages for ticket-holding football fans left seatless on game day.

If these people are to be believed, Ramirez, arrested over the weekend for his suspected involvement in the March 31st Dodger beating that left Giants fan Bryan Stow in a coma, was actually in an East Hollywood apartment on game day, babysitting the little girl.

Kyle Busch was cited on Tuesday afternoon after an officer near Mooresville, North Carolina clocked him going 128 in a 45 mph zone.

After it was revealed that the Los Angeles Dodgers had reduced security for the home opener that Bryan Stow was beaten after, a lawsuit against the team was almost a foregone conclusion.
