FACEBOOK LITIGATION: TEACHER SUED FOR MOCKING STUDENT'S HAIRSTYLE
(FindLaw's Strategist) - Facebook now has half a billion (with a "b") users worldwide. New lawsuits and evidence are born on the website every time someone posts to a Wall online. Here's another example of how Facebook litigation is fast becoming the wave of the future. Unfortunately, the girl's computer teacher was amused by the look, taking a photo to share with her Facebook friends.

(FindLaw's Technologist) - Lawyering on the go with your iPad? Want an app that will allow you to view your office computer screen just as though you were sitting on your desk? Of course you do. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE BREYER IS ON TWITTER, BUT DON'T FRIEND HIM
(FindLaw's Technologist) - No one can resist social media. The urge to tweet and post on Facebook walls reaches to the highest levels of our nation, as Justice Stephen Breyer is taking advantage of Twitter and Facebook. What would you expect a Supreme Court Justice to tweet about? "Can't believe Scalia isn't going to fight that fender bender ticket in traffic court! Or maybe "What has Clarence Thomas' wife been up to lately? Haven't heard much about her in a while."

COULD PAUL CEGLIA'S EMAIL PROVE HE OWNS HALF OF FACEBOOK?
(FindLaw's Technologist) - Paul Ceglia, who has been steadfast in his claims that a 2003 investment and programming contract entitles him to a portion of Facebook, amended his lawsuit against Mark Zuckerburg last week to include new evidence. The evidence? A series of emails from 2003 and 2004 that purportedly demonstrate that Ceglia is entitled to 50% of the social network. Facebook maintains that the emails are fake.

WINKLEVOSS PETITION FOR REHEARING EN BANC
(FindLaw's Courtside) - Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and Divya Narendra have filed a petition for a rehearing by the entire Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals after a three-judge panel of the court ruled that the settlement agreement between the parties and Facebook was valid and enforceable. The Winklevosses and Narendra had challenged the agreement, claiming that Facebook had committed fraud during the negotiations. The original lawsuit stemmed from the Winklevosses' and Narendra's assertions that the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, stole the idea for the social network from them while a student at Harvard University.

REMOVING RISK THROUGH AUTOMATION
(FindLaw Legal Technology Center) - If you are in Information Technology or Finance at a large firm, most likely your firm has developed custom programs to import expense-related information, such as overnight shipping or car service, to the firm's practice management system. These ad-hoc programs are a great efficiency and accuracy tool, as invoices do not need to be rekeyed, which is a time-consuming process subject to high error rates. However, this reliance on custom programs creates some overlooked and often unseen risks and inefficiencies for the firm.

BUSINESS CARDS NOW FEATURING QUICK RESPONSE CODES
(FindLaw's Strategist) - Soon, a business card with just your name and phone number on it might just be a dinosaur. For one Virgina firm, it has taken its business card digital. Beginning this month, the 50-plus attorneys at Odin Feldman Pittleman have the option of adding a Quick Response barcode that can transmit information via bar code scanners and camera phones.
