BOMB EXPLODES AS MAN REACHES FOR SUNDAY PAPER
(FindLaw's Blotter) - A pipe bomb hidden in an elderly California man's Sunday newspaper exploded as he reached to pick it near his doorstep.

New Funding On the Way
FEDS APPROVES NEW SMALL BIZ FUNDING TO 3 STATES
(FindLaw's Free Enterprise) - Small business lending took a huge hit during the financial crisis, but is slowly on the mend. And now that the Treasury Department is pitching in, a complete turnaround may be seen even sooner. The Treasury announced Tuesday that it has approved three states--Connecticut, Missouri and Vermont--for a combined $53.4 million in funds, which it estimates will generate more than $534 million overall in small business lending. Want a piece of that? Or want to know if your state will receive funds? Here's the deal.

Driving Back
TOP 5 WAYS TO FIGHT A PARKING TICKET
(FindLaw's Law & Daily Life) - There's nothing like returning to your car after an errand to find a piece of paper stuck to your windshield.

Suiting Up
WILL THE NFL PLAYERS' LAWSUIT BRING BACK FOOTBALL?
(FindLaw's Tarnished Twenty) - Professional football fans are freaking out. The NFL Player's Association and team owners failed to come to an agreement, and to add fuel to the fire, the players decertified the union, leading to a full-on NFL lockout. Now that there's an antitrust suit challenging the lockout, there's a lot of speculation about what will happen next. But there's no question about what fans really want to know: Come next fall, will NFL football be a relic of the past?

Bites and Barks
MAN BITES DOG, SUES POLICE FOR EXCESSIVE FORCE
(FindLaw's Injured) - Man Bites Dog is kind of like a disturbing version of the television show Man v. Food. You know, man sets his sights on a big food offering that no one should ever eat, and then proceeds to try his hand at consuming it all. Man Bites Dog clearly isn't a TV show--PETA would never stand for it--but it is a true story.

LEGAL LITE:

Another One Name Wonder?
LINDSAY LOHAN NAME CHANGE: JUST LINDSAY, AS IN CHER OR MADONNA
(FindLaw's Celebrity Justice) - There's only one Lindsay. Okay, maybe not. But rumor has it that a Lindsay Lohan name change is in the works and the actress/singer thinks she's a big enough star to be known only by her first name. Lindsay is no Madonna. And despite their similar, uh, mental issues, she's not even a Britney. So what's the deal? Apparently Miss Lohan, along with her sister Ali and mother Dina, no longer wants to be associated with abusive daddy Michael. While the other two ladies are making a move back to Dina's maiden name, reports the Los Angeles Times, Lindsay has more grandiose plans.
